We have a fantastic new opportunity for a German speaking Senior Tax Manager to join a highly successful, international organisation that has been at the forefront of pioneering product development and distribution across the globe for many years.
Language requirements for the job: Fluent German and English is essential.
Location of the job: 50% Hybrid working - Chester, UK (north west England) office + remote option. 2 days in the office one week, 3 days in the office the next.
Job responsibilities of the German speaking Senior Tax Manager:
- Oversee tax reporting and local tax compliance for Germany and other European markets by supporting global tax initiatives.
- Manage tax risks, ensuring accurate tax filings, meeting jurisdictional deadlines and the efficient managing of resources.
- Oversee direct tax compliance and tax reporting for Germany and other European markets.
- Plan and execute local tax compliance in Germany.
- Serve as the German Tax Compliance Management System Officer.
- Manage tax audits including collaboration with local finance teams and corporate tax staff.
- Advise heads of finance in local markets and educate business partners on tax legislation changes.
- Prepare US GAAP provision, projection and contingency reporting.
- Prepare cash flow budgets and projections related to taxes, supporting financial analysis.
- Maintain high internal control standards in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, corporate policies, local processes, and external requirements.
- Utilize technology for effective tax return and provision calculations.
- Manage the external advisor budget, plan internal resourcing, and ensure transparency of required spending.
The successful candidate background:
- Fluent German and English is essential.
- Educated to degree level and to chartered tax advisor level.
- Professional experience in a multi-national corporate tax environment or equivalent, including Tax compliance and reporting in at least one jurisdiction.
- Experience in managing and developing staff.
- Proficient in accounting provisions, accounting principles, audit and disclosure requirements of financial statements.
- Understanding of US GAAP.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure.
- Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
