This role will provide the opportunity to help deliver Fareham’s regeneration vision. You will be working on the development and delivery of a masterplan, alongside managing projects to deliver public realm and physical town centre improvement projects. This will include procurement and management of external consultants as well as engaging with key stakeholders, partners, local businesses and residents.

We are looking for someone who can think creatively and has previous experience in a built environment profession such as regeneration, planning, urban design, property, asset management etc., delivering projects, including small scale development projects. You will have excellent project management and delivery skills, including managing project budgets and be able to make a positive contribution to the regeneration work we are undertaking. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with key public sector partners, businesses, communities and residents to promote town centre regeneration proposals, and provide support across the Council to help deliver projects for the successful regeneration of Fareham Town Centre.

You will have a qualification in a regeneration related discipline (planning, urban design, architect, asset management, property) and you will need to be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will have a customer oriented approach along with excellent communication, project management, negotiation and financial administration skills. This role will involve some dealings with elected members and therefore political awareness is essential. A valid driving licence and access to your own transport is essential.

We take pride in receiving feedback from others who say we are a friendly and professional organisation. You would be joining one of the most forward-looking borough councils in the Southeast, a happy team and a well-managed Council. We offer a great pension scheme, authorised parking, tech schemes and a car lease scheme to name a few of the benefits of working for us. We encourage our employees to make a valuable contribution to the work of the Council by having a trusting and open culture, where ideas are actively sought. We also recognise the value of a highly motivated and engaged workforce. We are committed to ensuring our services are delivered to the highest possible standard and we put the customer at the forefront of everything we do.

Fareham Borough Council is committed to being a disability inclusive employer and in order to support this commitment we are proud to be part of the Government's Disability Confident scheme demonstrating that we will provide a fair and equal route to employment with the Council. Being part of the scheme means we proactively seek to address inequality for those with disabilities by challenging attitudes towards disability, increasing understanding of disability and removing barriers to disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.
