Mechanical Shift Engineer – City of London – £47,000 + Overtime

Location: Fenchurch Street, City of London

Salary: £47,000 + Generous Overtime

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Day & Night Shifts, 7 AM – 7 PM)

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading FM Service Provider at a prestigious banking contract located in the heart of the City of London. This is an excellent role for a skilled engineer looking to further develop their career in a dynamic environment.

As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of mechanical services, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards. You will work alongside a dedicated maintenance team and be involved in both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the building.

Key Responsibilities:

– Perform daily PPM and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical services.

– Respond to emergency callouts in line with KPIs and SLAs.

– Maintain mechanical equipment and services to ensure smooth operation.

– Carry out plumbing, pipework repairs, and minor fabric work when required.

– Manage procurement of materials and equipment to complete maintenance tasks.

– Supervise subcontractors when necessary.

– Assist the Lead Engineer and Account Manager in meeting all statutory and legislative requirements.

– Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and operational KPIs.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

– City & Guilds Mechanical Qualifications (or equivalent)

– Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within commercial buildings

– Experience working in a shift-based role

– Ability to take part in the call-out rota

– Strong problem-solving and technical skills
