The Firm: A small local accountancy firm on the outskirts of Newcastle offering accounting and advisory services to local SME clients are looking to appoint a Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll bureau services on behalf of their clients. Offering hybrid working this is likely to be popular amongst those still working 5 days in the office.
The Role: A hands-on position that will require you to take responsibility for the end to end payroll services to a portfolio of c200 clients with weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll on Sage. You will supervise one part-time member of staff and ensure that all client queries are dealt with and payments made in a timely manner. You will find the role affords plenty of autonomy and allows you to run the payroll function as you see appropriate. Experience: Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years payroll experience, preferably with exposure to working in a payroll bureau or accountancy firm where they have previously managed multiple payrolls at any one time. You will have a sound technical knowledge of all aspects of payroll including year end and pension payments. You will be a confident user of Sage having previous experience of processing payrolls on this application. Your communication skills will be strong and you will be comfortable liaising with business owners regarding their queries. Applicants must have a right to work in the UK.
