A highly reputable care home on the outskirts of Dumfries is looking to recruit an experienced cook to join their culinary team to provide a range of well balanced, nutritional meals for their residents.

What we are offering to you:

  • Permanent, part-time contract - 30 hours per week (4 shifts one week, 3 shifts the next)
  • Competitive pay - £14.00 per hour (£21,840 per annum)

The roles and responsibilities of our Cook are:

  • To prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals as and when required
  • To be responsible for menu planning within budget, in conjunction with the Manager and considering the needs and preferences of the residents
  • To order supplies and ensure that all food is prepared and stored safely adhering to any requirement from the Environment Health and SCSWIS.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and servery's

What we are looking for in a candidate:

  • Basic food hygiene certificate
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work within a team or from their own initiative
  • Satisfactory police check, PVG
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Ideally you would hold or be working towards appropriate City and Guilds certificate
  • Experience of food preparation in a care environment is preferred
