We are looking for a Head of Psychology Programmes to join our team. Reporting to the Deputy Academic Director, we are seeking to recruit a Head of Psychology. This dynamic, enthusiastic individual will line manage a team of Programme Managers, an Experimental Officer, Programme Co-ordinators and Permanent Lecturers and take overall responsibility for the maintenance and enhancement of academic standards, the currency of the curriculum and the quality of the student experience. In this exciting and challenging role, the Head of Department will use their own subject knowledge and experience as well as feedback from students, tutors and examiners to drive forward the development and enhancement of the programmes within their department considering pedagogical approaches appropriate for online delivery.
What you’ll bring to the role

- A PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant psychology subject, or nearing completion of this.
- Eligibility for Chartered Status with the British Psychological Society.
- Experience of teaching in Higher Education.
- The ability to lead and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- The ability to prioritise and co-ordinate own workload and work to set deadlines.
- Willingness to take on additional projects as and when required.
- Experience of programme development in the Higher Education sector.
- Experience of online teaching and/or delivery.
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE FHEA).
