The Role

Following a major transformation and rapid team growth over the past year, we are looking for a dynamic Delivery Director to drive operational excellence and continued improvement. You will be responsible for overseeing Scheduling, Streetworks Administration, Data Management, and Control Room operations, ensuring seamless service delivery while maintaining strong customer engagement and regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the Director of Transition & Regulation, you will lead a team of circa 100 people, with around 5 direct reports. You must be comfortable working in an evolving landscape, managing transformation projects, and adapting to change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of Planning & Scheduling, optimising processes and systems for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee Control Room operations, expanding its scope to cover all network activities.
  • Manage the Data Collation team, ensuring compliance with regulatory digitisation standards.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local authorities to secure Streetworks permitting.
  • Provide strong leadership to circa 100 employees, with around 5 direct reports.
  • Drive customer engagement strategies, ensuring outstanding service delivery within a managed service package environment.
  • Manage and adapt to ongoing transformation projects, ensuring smooth operational transitions.

  • Consultancy background with experience delivering managed service projects in the utilities sector.
  • Strong customer engagement skills, ensuring service excellence and long-term client relationships.
  • Extensive experience in senior leadership, with a track record of driving operational excellence.
  • Strong commercial acumen, using data analysis to drive business performance and efficiencies.
  • Experience in the Water, Gas, or Energy industry, with an understanding of regulations and best practices.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and PMI frameworks.
  • Ability to lead through change, managing transformation projects effectively.

Hybrid Working & Travel

Primarily based across two London locations. Occasional visits to an office in the Midlands. Some home working flexibility.
