  • Empowering and developing your team by understanding their strengths and providing them with opportunities to learn, improve their skills and drive high performance.
  • Creating an open culture that embraces change and encourages challenge.
  • Identifying and proactively resolving “single point of failure” risks within the team.
  • Providing Gross Margin (£100m+) reporting (both actuals and forecast) that adds insight and drives decision making, in line with the principles of information simplification.
  • Being solely responsible and accountable for the accuracy of the monthly forecast for Gross Margin, Opex and the integrity of the associated Balance Sheet transactions.
  • Creating and leading a Continuous Improvement culture to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, proactively identifying opportunities to utilise Robotics and AI.
  • Managing, leading and producing the annual 4 year medium term plan for the divisional Gross Margin and Opex, providing support and robust challenge to ensure the plans are stretching but achievable and maximise future value for the business.
  • Providing excellent Business Partnering and decision support services to the BU Director and the BU Senior Leadership Team, advising stakeholders on the financial impacts of their activities and providing guidance on how best to achieve their financial and strategic targets.
  • Supporting the Technical Accounting team to agree the accounting treatment (e.g. IFRS 15 and IFRS 9) for new contracts/agreements.
  • Working autonomously, making decisions independently, only escalating the most complex matters to your line manager and influencing and challenging at a senior level, with regular interaction with the Finance Director.
  • Building strong relationships and networks with the Senior Business Leaders that you support, balancing competing demands, which is a key challenge of the role.
  • Setting and driving the strategy for the BU Finance team.
