Principle Engineer

Futureheads have exclusively partnered with a startup that is looking for a seasoned Principal Engineer with a passion for mentoring and simplifying complex concepts. You\’ll be guiding a skilled and willing team, where you will also help leverage cutting-edge AI tools to streamline development processes and LLMs. This is a 3 month initial contract.

Your Mission:

• Lead and mentor a backend team, fostering confidence in DevOps and infrastructure development
• Collaborate closely with DevOps to optimise processes using AI-driven solutions
• Simplify complex workflows and accelerate development using innovative AI tools
• Coach the team on Kafka, software design patterns, and backend best practices

You\’ll Excel If You Have:

• Expertise in Kotlin and Python
• Strong background in event-driven architectures, Kafka, and Kafka Streams
• Proficiency in AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience building microservices and leveraging LLMs for development
• Passion for AI-powered tools in CI/CD and infrastructure management
• Proven leadership in guiding engineering teams
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts simply

Rate: £600-£700/day Outside IR35
Location: Remote – must be UK based
