The Role
As the Head of Finance Operations, you will oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Finance Systems teams and be the subject matter expert for these areas, ensuring that there is seamless transactional finance operations across the group.
This is a business-critical leadership role, where they are looking for a person who is highly skilled in transactional finance processes and who can be responsible for enhancing financial controls, optimising technology, and improving processes to support long-term growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the vision for the team and help develop a high-performing finance team.
- Manage the AP, AR, Credit Control and Financial Systems. Your role will be to oversee the workloads and deadlines across the teams.
- You will lead the transactional finance, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- The role will be to identify automation opportunities to help streamline finance operations.
- This is a key business partner role, and you will be working with senior stakeholders and other senior finance heads to provide financial insights, deliver transactional finance results and resolve escalations.
- Other elements will be to ensure finance policies, VAT returns and compliance are adhered to across all the group entities.
What We’re Looking For
- A Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- With proven large team management.
- Strong transactional finance experience across AP, AR and related teams.
- Knowledge of overseeing finance operations in a multi-entity environment is essential.
- Confident in reviewing processes and suggesting improvements or automation.
- Strong commercial mindset, capable of managing cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills and NetSuite or Oracle experience would be a plus.
- Experience in hospitality, travel, or real estate sectors preferred.
This role is hybrid working with 4 days onsite and 1 day working from home, with that in mind please only apply if you live within a commutable distance of Bristol. The client is not offering any relocation package, and you must be eligible to work in the UK.
