Ambition is partnering with a Top 10 ranked audit firm to find an Audit Assistant Manager for their Financial Services Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, from large listed corporates to privately owned companies.
One of the best aspects of the team is the variety of clients you will work with. For smaller clients lacking structured processes, you will play an integral role in providing business advice. Conversely, you will also work with large corporates and listed businesses, including FTSE, LSE, and AIM listed clients.

Key Responsibilities:- Participate in pre-assignment discussions with the audit team.
- Assist the senior auditor in completing the planning section.
- Understand the objectives and budget requirements of each assignment.
- Allocate tasks to junior audit team members.
- Provide on-the-job training, review their work, and give feedback.
- Ensure on-site work aligns with the approved plan and budget.
- Inform the manager of any developments that may require a strategy change.
- Propose logical solutions to problems.
- Prepare a detailed assignment memorandum with an appropriate analytical review.
- Address manager and partner review points and follow up on any outstanding queries.
- Respond to client queries and concerns efficiently and professionally, often interacting directly with senior management.
- Offer sound advice to clients and demonstrate knowledge of business issues.
- Provide a detailed analysis of time charged on each assignment to aid in billing and future planning.
- Qualifications: ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent.
- Experience: Required experience in external commercial auditing, especially adhering to International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
- Background: External audit within Insurance sector.
- Skills: Conducting statutory audits and half-year review engagements in line with UK Auditing Standards, from planning to completion, reporting directly to the manager and engagement partner. Experience in client liaison from the planning stage to audit completion, identifying opportunities to add value.
- Must have at least 18 months of UK experience with insurance clients.
