An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Spelthorne Borough Council as a Supported Housing Manager, overseeing two supported housing facilities in Ashford, Surrey.

THE ROLE

  • As Supported Housing Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the delivery and management of the Housing and Support Service, supporting residents with complex needs and leading a small team.
  • Oversee referrals, assessments, tenancy sign-ups, and manage tenancy breaches.
  • Deliver one-to-one support to a caseload of residents, helping them achieve personal goals.
  • Provide effective team management through supervision, training, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure properties are safe, well-maintained, and regularly inspected.
  • Manage rent collection, liaise with benefits and finance teams, and address arrears.
  • Lead safeguarding responses and represent the service at multi-agency meetings.
  • Facilitate resident engagement events and respond professionally to complaints and incidents.

THE CANDIDATE

  • The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a managerial role within a housing and support setting, ideally supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs.
  • Proven ability to manage housing services, support teams, and work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of the benefits system, safeguarding, and landlord/tenant law.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills, including report writing.
  • Experience of liaising with external agencies and attending court if required.
  • Confident in managing challenging situations and providing holistic resident support.

THE CONTRACT

  • 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • 3-month contract, covering the permanent recruitment process.
  • The pay range for the role is £20.00 to £25.00 per hour LTD company rate.
  • The PAYE equivalent is £17.05 to £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
