Enso Recruitment is working with a Belfast-based green tech scale-up that is using data analytics to address environmental challenges in a practical, measurable way. As the business continues to grow, they are expanding their engineering function and are now hiring a DevOps Engineer to help improve and scale their cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational tooling. This is a key role within a small technical team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of core DevOps responsibilities and contribute to a platform that is evolving quickly. The company takes a collaborative, low-ego approach to software delivery, with a focus on building reliable, maintainable systems that support real-world outcomes.
Role Responsibilities:
- Design, maintain, and improve cloud-based infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable deployment of services
- Collaborate with software engineers to streamline development and release workflows
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, focusing on uptime, performance, and security
- Develop and manage automated tooling for infrastructure management, logging, and alerting
- Contribute to discussions around architecture, scaling, and platform reliability
- Help define and enforce DevOps best practices across the engineering team
Skills and Experience Required:
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of scripting or programming for automation (e.g. Python, Bash)
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and practices (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Experience working in a collaborative engineering team or cross-functional environment
- Strong communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset
