Collections Manager – SME Finance

Responsibilities

1. Managing the performance of the loan book via contacting customers (omnichannel) to resolve missed / overdue payments as part of our internal debt collection processes.
2. Acting as main POC for our external legal partners; preparing relevant documentation, tracking cases and managing communications via our legal partners to maximise performance.
3. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to refining collections frameworks, policies, and decision-making processes.
4. Reporting: devising and providing feedback / reporting suitable for senior management / shareholders / investors.
5. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Credit Risk to ensure feedback loops to assist future underwriting / credit risk decisioning.
6. Technology & Analytics: Work alongside the Tech and Analytics teams to enhance our collections processes.

Who We’re Looking For

We value smart, driven, and detail-oriented professionals who are always looking to improve. The ideal candidate will have:

1. 4+ years of experience in UK based Debt Collection.
2. Strong business acumen with an understanding of SME risk and revenue drivers.
3. Financial expertise to interpret financial statements and assess key risk indicators.
4. An analytical mindset with a practical, problem-solving approach.
5. Excellent communication skills to work effectively across teams.
6. Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
7. A proactive attitude in suggesting innovative solutions and process improvements.
8. The ability to prioritise under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
