A position for a Legal Executive/Solicitor has arisen in the Dispute Resolution Team in Bristol. The role will complement RWKG’s existing well-developed DR team which operates across our sites at Bristol and Bath. We are looking for a newly qualified solicitor or legal executive. The ideal candidate has previous commercial dispute resolution experience gained either during their training contract or previous paralegal post at a national or regional firm. The ideal candidate must be able to show a desire and motivation for a career as a commercial disputes lawyer and can demonstrate experience of handling or assisting with general commercial disputes to include:
- Professional negligence
- Commercial contracts
- Warranty disputes
- Disputes arising out of corporate acquisitions
The Dispute Resolution Team in Bristol and Bath is headed up by Simon Price under the overall conduct of Dan Dodman (London). Working as part of a supportive and close-knit team culture you can expect to be involved in complex, rewarding and high-value work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of files, dealing effectively with cases and transactions.
- Deal directly with clients to take instructions and ensure full understanding in order to deliver on client expectations.
- Work closely with partners and senior lawyers to develop client relationship skills.
- Actively develop relationships with smaller clients.
- Effectively scope and price work, under supervision.
- Build effective working relationships in the team.
- Encourage junior fee earners and provide feedback to assist their learning, effectively delegating tasks where appropriate.
- Manage time recording, WIP monitoring and billing consistently on own and others’ files and matters.
- Work toward personal and team KPIs, measuring performance against these.
