We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Underwriter to lead the expansion of a profitable portfolio while maintaining strong relationships with insurers and brokers. This role involves underwriting responsibilities and business development with a focus on Property, Casualty, and Development lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain special relationships with existing brokers and retail customers, while targeting new brokers through effective marketing of current products.
- Ensure professional service delivery of new business and renewals to meet company income targets in line with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Assist in converting renewals and new business opportunities.
- Maintain complete electronic files using Acturis/SchemeServe/Broker Partners systems.
- Collaborate on actions involving brokers, policyholders, and capacity providers.
- Share expertise with fellow team members and provide support where necessary.
- Resolve enquiries, credit control issues, and problems efficiently to foster positive broker relationships.
- Seek and respond to customer feedback proactively.
- Mitigate and address conflicts of interest effectively.
- Support business unit key performance indicators and targets as directed.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, including the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, FCA regulations, and internal company policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven track record in underwriting with expertise in Property, Casualty, and Development lines.
- Strong relationship management skills to build and maintain effective partnerships with brokers and retail customers.
- Proficient in using electronic file management systems (e.g., Acturis/SchemeServe).
