About the role

We’re seeking a talented and collaborative Frontend Engineer to join our London-based team. In this hybrid role, you’ll help us create beautiful user interfaces that empower users to scale Kafka in their organization, share data with 3rd parties, and apply data quality rules. You’ll work closely with our design team to deliver a great user experience, implemented with performant, well-written and tested code.

What will you be doing?

  • Building great user interfaces in React and TypeScript, creating beautiful components with Storybook and testing it all with Playwright and Vitest.
  • Ideating and implementing innovative features for our end users.
  • Working and collaborating with our UI/UX Design team to ensure our user experience is flawless.
  • Improving performance and navigation and helping to integrate design changes into the frontend.
  • Working with our backend teams (Scala backends) using REST services (OpenAPI) to ensure seamless integration with the server side.
  • Bringing your Front-end experience to improve our overall code quality, tools and processes.
  • Actively contributing to the development of best practices within the team is important to us as we are always open to new ways of working.

What experiences are we looking for?

  • You must have worked with React + TypeScript. We place high value on type-safety in our codebase.
  • You have integrated REST endpoints in production.
  • You are familiar with state management libraries, including Zustand and Redux.
  • You are naturally curious and eager to always be learning and improving.
  • You’re highly collaborative, enjoy helping others in both your immediate and wider teams and actively contribute your ideas and thoughts to meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • You have excellent communication skills; we value giving feedback and contributing both verbally and in writing.
  • You have had some exposure to testing on the front end.
  • You care about emerging trends and technologies in front-end development.

Nice to have

  • You’ve got experience using TanStack Table and TanStack Query.
  • You’ve got experience writing and maintaining end-to-end tests with Playwright.
