Associate Director – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
The Role
This role involves leading M&A advisory projects in the mid-market sector , working with businesses to achieve strategic objectives through acquisitions, disposals, and fundraising. The position requires expertise in deal origination, financial analysis, and transaction execution .

Key Responsibilities
- Lead M&A projects, acting as a senior point of contact for clients.
- Manage client relationships and oversee the execution of M&A transactions .
- Take ownership of all phases of the transaction cycle , from origination to completion.
- Oversee and review the preparation of pitch materials, client proposals, and financial models .
- Direct and manage team members, support staff, and external advisers.
- Conduct and review financial modeling, including LBO & DCF analysis .
- Develop and maintain strong market relationships .
- Drive origination and business development efforts .
- Set, monitor, and manage project budgets, billing, and reporting.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong academic background ( ACA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent ).
- Significant experience in M&A advisory, investment banking, or corporate finance .
- Proven ability to execute transactions and develop deal origination strategies .
- Strong numerical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
- Experience in financial modeling and valuation methods (LBO, DCF).
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- A track record of successful deal execution across all transaction phases.
Preferred Experience
- Corporate finance experience in investment banking, private equity, M&A boutiques, or Big 4 firms .
- Knowledge of financing structures , including debt project finance and equity infrastructure finance.
- Experience advising and executing projects to financial close .
- Understanding of business case development, value-for-money analysis, and option appraisals .
- Strong financial modeling and financial analysis skills .
- Experience interacting with investors, regulators, and other key stakeholders .
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines .
Benefits
- £85,000 – £100,000
- £4,500 car allowance (can be taken as cash on top of your salary)
- 10% bonus
