The Visual Merchandising Manager is a key position within our dynamic Marketing team and will oversee the visual merchandising strategy and execution in all our prestige retailers (Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Liberty, John Lewis, Harrods, Fenwick, Next, Arnotts, SpaceNK) as well as Dermalogica’s own flagship stores, selected professional skin therapist accounts, and travel retail. This role will be based remotely to allow flexibility for travel. The role is suited best to someone who is London-based, due to our large London store footprint and for easy travel connections to other parts of the UK. The successful candidate will spend most of their time working in the field, with time at home 1 day a week to work on strategy/planning. There would also be a weekly visit required to our headquarters (Leatherhead, Surrey).

The responsibilities of the Visual Merchandising Manager include:

  • Roll out and implement the visual merchandising strategy to UKI retailers and Dermalogica’s own flagship stores.
  • Develop and manage the UK Visual Merchandising Guide, developing best practice guidelines for store and strategy for in-store navigation.
  • Develop retail experience ideas and schematics for our in-store activations that bring the Dermalogica brand to life.
  • Manage the cost of in-store updates to ensure projects remain on-budget.
  • Manage VM for new store openings covering all relevant details such as schematic set-up and layouts, signage, hero promotions, and supporting materials for launch events.
  • Lead and work with visual merchandising agencies & ensure projects are delivered on time and in-budget.
  • Liaise with US global Visual Merchandising team to help refine visual brand codes.
  • Share merchandising best practices and learnings with wider teams, and lead deployment to our independent stores.
  • Implement evaluation procedures for optimal sales output.
  • Regularly visit all locations and perform spot-checks, build relationships with counter-teams and upskill/guide them in VM best practice.
  • Planogram updates across the estate.
  • Pricing – update once a year and for NPD.
  • Present to the teams/wider business on VM best practices/our strategy at company events.
  • Work with Retail Operations Manager on all new door openings and renovations in UK & Ireland from brief to installation.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Store Design, by working with Global VM to ensure they meet with brand guidelines.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and retailers to ensure smooth process.
  • Competition tracking: regularly monitor competitors activities.
  • Visit store locations and test competitor’s brand experiences through the eyes of the customers and share best practices with HO.

Do you have the below skills?

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in skin care, beauty or fragrance retail/in-store experience required.
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience, specifically Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Collaboration skills and team spirit.
  • Knowledge and management of Sketchup is a plus.
  • Highly organized and analytical with meticulous attention to detail.
