Piper Maddox are working alongside a leading name in renewable energy development to build out their development function with the addition of a Land Manager to their existing team. This role will play a crucial part in the early stages of their sizeable pipeline of utility scale Solar and Battery Storage projects. Our client has been a mainstay in the UK renewable energy market for over a decade, now with operations in multiple global territories. Their current portfolio sits at over 8GW in various stages of development, with a range of TCPA and DCO applications. Some of the UK's largest NSIPs sit within this developer's pipeline, putting them at the forefront of the market.

This position will split its responsibilities across not only site origination but also in focusing on progressing their existing projects. Therefore, it is not your traditional site finding/land acquisition role. You would be involved in the key negotiations and commercial terms relating to the land management process, managing the landowner relationship, and ensuring a smooth handover into the next stage of the development process.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Negotiating wayleaves and easements for land access matters.
  • Working on the closing and signature of option to lease agreements.
  • Planning and negotiating suitable substation cable routing matters to ensure a project remains grid-viable amidst changing regulations.
  • Contributing to project origination when the company looks to further expand their pipeline.

Our client has identified an applicable background to be someone coming from a surveying background where your focus has been on renewable energy, utilities, or major infrastructure projects. You must therefore be comfortable and confident engaging with rural and agricultural stakeholders. You would be joining a tight-knit and driven organization who are following on from a great year in 2024 with more success coming this year. The team is very goal-oriented with a strong feeling that everyone is working together to achieve a common outcome to contribute heavily to the net-zero transition.
