About the Business
An opportunity to be an Interim Financial Controller for a logistics business with offices based in Coleshill. This business has developed an excellent reputation within their industry across both the UK as well as Europe. This role is a great experience if you want to be a FD long term. This job will be on a day rate.
Main Duties:
- Create comprehensive board reports covering financial performance, key challenges, and business risks.
- Compile monthly management accounts.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and robust balance sheet provisioning.
- Draft annual budgets and conduct periodic business reforecasts.
- Assist the CFS team with submitting payment applications according to contract timelines, ensuring accurate certification accounting and invoicing, as well as supporting prompt receipt of certified payments.
- Comply with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) for tax and VAT, ensuring correct application to contracts and subcontractors and adhering to monthly HMRC reporting requirements.
- Analyse budget performance as part of the management accounts, providing explanations for variances.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow to aid in group–wide cash management and treasury operations.
- Assist the Finance Manager with supplier and subcontractor payment runs, ensuring alignment with GRNs, purchase orders, and securing necessary managerial approvals.
- Oversee and manage a small team.
- Participate in and present at monthly business review meetings, offering financial performance insights and actionable recommendations to assist leadership decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial systems and policies, including Sage Intacct, Simpro, and other relevant systems.
- Suggest strategies to reduce costs and improve margins.
- Provide financial analysis and support for acquisitions and strategic projects.
