Job Title: Young Person Support Worker Location: Canterbury, Whitstable and Thanet Salary: £27,285 per annum Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week 8.30am-5pm Contract Type: Permanent Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? Our well-established client, a leader in housing solutions, is seeking a dedicated Young Person Support Worker to join their team. You will be providing high-quality support and positive outcomes for young individuals in the care service, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and support young people in their transition to adulthood and independent living. Key Responsibilities: * Provide support and guidance to young people living independently in their own homes. * Assist in developing young people’s independent living skills. * Promote and encourage positive life choices, including social activities, budgeting, and education. * Update and ensure progress is made with care plans accordingly. * Collaborate with social services and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support. * Participate in planning, monitoring, review, and evaluation activities to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery. * Ensure all young people and staff are treated fairly and with consideration of their cultural, religious, and physical needs. * Provide on-call assistance as required. * Address and signpost all safeguarding issues in line with company policies and procedures. * Work cohesively with team members to ensure compliant service delivery. Required Skills: * NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it within set timeframe. * Understanding of The Children’s Act and Children’s Social Care system is preferred. * Previous experience working with young people in a care setting. * Strong communication skills, relationship-building abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure. * Must be able to travel across a geographical area on a daily/weekly basis. * Driving License required Benefits: * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays * Mileage expenses (claimable from home) * Health Membership * Life cover * 6-month probation period * 4% employer and 4% employee pension contribution * Laptop, phone, and other equipment as needed * Employee Assistance Programme * Referral scheme If you are passionate about supporting young people and meet the requirements above, we would love to hear from you.
