The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

The Telegraph is refreshing its newsletter portfolio and we need you to be a part of it. As Senior Newsletter Editor you will help build and strengthen The Telegraph's relationship with its readers by crafting, editing, curating, producing and optimising bespoke emails. In this role, you will work primarily on The Telegraph's flagship newsletters, exercising your editorial judgement to curate and edit content. This is a fast-paced role, in which you will collaborate with colleagues around the newsroom.

You don’t need previous experience working on newsletters to join our team, but you do need to be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail, strong news judgement and an interest in using data to make editorial decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and send The Telegraph's flagship newsletters
  • Write and edit high-quality copy at speed
  • Curate content and make editorial recommendations using news judgement and data
  • Create and commission eye-catching visuals
  • Forward plan future editions, working closely with a newsletter editor and the newsroom
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to optimise sends and develop new ideas
  • Leverage newsroom and design talent to ensure use of the best material and The Telegraph's newsletters maintain our highest standards
  • Cover producing, editing and writing other bespoke email newsletters across a variety of topics
  • Come up with content and presentation ideas
  • The Telegraph is a 24/7 publisher and some shifts may take place out of hours or on weekends
Key Skills
  • Excellent editing skills and proven ability to produce the highest quality work on a consistent basis, to tight deadlines (Essential)
  • Exceptional attention to detail (Essential)
  • The ability to write quickly, concisely and with flair - including snappy headlines and sells (Essential)
  • Excellent understanding of The Telegraph's brands and journalistic values, both in digital and in print (Essential)
  • Excellent editorial judgement, with confidence in selecting the most compelling content to share with an audience (Essential)
  • Ability to show initiative and work well under pressure (Essential)
  • Experience of working as a journalist in a busy newsroom (Desirable)
  • Demonstrable ability to use analytics tools and data reports to influence editorial decisions (Desirable)
  • Experience curating high-quality editorial content for engaged audiences (Desirable)
  • Direct experience working on newsletters, an understanding of the industry and what makes newsletters unique from other publishing media (Desirable)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with other departments (Desirable)
  • Experience using a variety of digital publishing / CMS systems (Desirable)
  • Full knowledge of media law is preferred
