We are seeking an ambitious and driven Category Manager to manage our Outdoor & DIY product assortment, providing the best selection of items for our UK consumers at the best price. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure we offer the best products to our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and shape category strategies and contribute to the growth of a new and dynamic e-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead purchasing and sales activity for the Outdoor & DIY product category including gardening and DIY.
  • Business development with brands and suppliers, bringing the leading brands on board.
  • Analyse key metrics and identify sourcing gaps to derive strategies on how to improve supplier and category performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, including pricing structures and promotional campaigns.
  • Identify and engage with potential partners, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and cost efficiencies, validate fees, and ensure accurate data maintenance.
  • Curate and select category-specific products that align with consumer demand and usage scenarios.
  • Collaborate with international supply chain teams to secure necessary resources and support.
  • Analyse sales and procurement data to identify trends, propose improvements, and enhance gross profit margins.
  • Engage with regional and local teams to implement strategies proposed.
Qualifications:
  • Merchandising or buying experience within outdoors, DIY and/or related.
  • Deep understanding of consumers, with strong market insights and proven purchasing expertise.
  • Established supplier relationships within the FMCG network in the UK.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, data sensitivity, and logical thinking.
  • Effective communicator with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Highly driven, innovative, team-oriented, and committed to aligning personal contributions with organisational goals.
