Interim Head of Procurement – NHS | £480 per day | Outside IR35

Are you a procurement professional with a strong track record in NHS settings? We\’re working with a forward-thinking healthcare organisation in the South East that needs a seasoned interim to step in and lead a critical procurement function for the next 12 months.

Location: South East (2-3 days on site per week)
Contract: Full-time, 12 months
Start: ASAP
Rate: £480 per day (Outside IR35)

This is a pivotal role, overseeing procurement strategy, leading a small team, and supporting key cost improvement targets. You\’ll be the go-to expert for procurement analytics, MI reporting, and stakeholder updates — all while embedding strong governance and maximising the use of procurement tech platforms.

What you\’ll be doing:

• Leading and delivering procurement insight and analysis
• Supporting the delivery of the Cost Improvement Programme
• Embedding robust governance and assurance processes
• Managing procurement systems and helpdesk operations
• Line-managing a team of four direct reports
• Producing board-level reports that drive action

What we\’re looking for:

• Senior-level procurement experience in the NHS and wider public sector
• Strong analytics and MI reporting expertise
• A confident leader with experience in PMO, governance, and systems
• A pragmatic communicator who builds trust with stakeholders
