A strategic Finance leader who serves as the regional point of contact for Partners and senior stakeholders, providing expertise in commercial finance, commercial profitability initiatives, and comprehensive P&L performance analysis. This role collaborates heavily with other Finance teams within Group and other regions, as well as other Corporate Services departments.
What You'll Do:
- Leadership and enablement: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and One Firm behaviour. Provide impactful leadership to Commercial Finance Business Partner - EMEA. Excellent communication skills (at all levels, including Regional Executive Committees) and be able to digest and subsequently deliver succinct and powerful finance information to support commercial decision making.
- Business Partner Support: Build strong and positive relationships with budget holders and senior managers, providing the necessary assistance and professional advice to assist them with the financial aspects of their duties. Ensure the analysts are supporting each area of the business appropriately so that leaders understand and ‘own’ their numbers and receive analysis that informs and supports effective decision making. Strong ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge senior managers on financial decisions. Be the focal point for commercial financial queries, providing advice to stakeholders. Apply various tools such as investment appraisal techniques to better inform decision making and adopt a partner/challenger role in evaluating business plans and business cases. Responsible for providing senior management with regular and ad-hoc performance insight in various forums (e.g. Flash, Trading, ad-hoc presentations).
- Pricing: Active involvement with the business on: Bid support / RFPs; setting annual rate card / pricing to ensure margins are maintained or improved; challenging the business on take-on activities to meet gross margin thresholds. Assist in developing framework Pricing policy (including floor rates).
- Reporting: Work alongside FP&A team to ensure that BAU reporting is focused on aiding decision making. Collaborate regularly with peer groups in weekly Global Commercial Finance meetings to align on and standardize best-in-class reporting aspects. Contribute towards continuous improvement of BAU reporting packs as group priorities / structures change.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Ensure that Partners are thoroughly briefed on the planning process, empowering them to own their numbers and obtain Regional CEO sign off prior to formal submission. Work alongside the FP&A team in delivery of the budget and subsequent quarterly forecast. Review / challenge business submissions and ensure that plans remained balanced between risks and opportunities. Drive margin improvement conversations and aid business stakeholders in forming plans which reflect this. Ownership of high quality and insightful Quarterly Business Review material. Provide strategic and long-term financial planning support to senior management including capital allocation recommendations.
- Systems, Processes & Controls: As senior member of the Global Finance team you are expected to identify and implement efficiency and value improvements. Work with the Systems Team and Regional Financial Controllers to investigate and implement improvements in ‘self-service’ budgeting / forecasting and reporting. Work with Financial Control to ensure the integrity of the financial data supplied is robust and accurate.
- Other / ad hoc: Contribute to the calibration and creation of commercial financial controls policies and coordinate proper policy interpretation and execution in the region. Develop and roll out any Commercial training initiatives within the Region.
Who You Are:
- Essential: Chartered Accountant. 10-15 years’ experience as a Commercial Finance professional. Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, able to challenge and collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels. Clear and concise communicator, adept at conveying financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strategic mindset with ability to understand business goals beyond the numbers and interpret broader organizational context. Proven experience as a true business partner to an organisation and aiding in decisions which have directly resulted in increased profitability/margins. 3+ years’ experience as an effective people manager, capable of developing talent and addressing performance issues. Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines while maintaining quality. Advanced technical proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel modelling).
- Preferred: Professional Services experience. Microsoft D365 experience. Tagetik experience.
