Gas Safe Register are seeking a dedicated Gas Industry professional to manage the day-to-day relationships with the Standards Setting Body (SSB) and other key organizations within the gas industry. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of competency and safety that our industry demands. Additionally, the successful candidate will support the delivery of our registration and technical department functions, contributing to the overall excellence of our services.
What you’ll be doing:
- Represent the Gas Safe Register in various gas industry competence groups, such as SSB and SCF.
- Identify and raise gas safety issues from external groups, ensuring they are addressed by relevant departments.
- Work closely with all relevant departments to ensure consultation matters are properly escalated.
- Manage Gas Safe Register's relationship with Awarding Bodies, monitoring and evaluating their performance.
- Organize and conduct annual performance reviews of Awarding Bodies.
- Support the registrations team with complaints, sanctions, brand misuse, and appeals.
- Support the Technical department when required.
- Compliance with Gas Safe Register Quality System Requirements.
- Adherence to Gas Safe Register’s quality procedures developed in accordance with ISO.
- Ensure that Gas Safe Register’s brand is reflected accurately in all communications.
What we’re looking for:
- Recognised and relevant gas qualifications.
- Understanding of the strategies for delivering and operating Nationally Accredited Qualifications and Competence Schemes.
- Detailed understanding of the gas utilisation industry and general health and safety management systems, procedures, legislation, and codes of practice.
- Ability to participate in and influence committees and working groups with government representatives, senior business managers, and professional institutions.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to develop assessment strategies and performance reporting criteria.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills to influence decision-makers.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Hold appropriate National Accreditation Certification Scheme awards for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives (e.g., CCN1, CEN1, CKR1, CPA1, DAH1, HTR1, LAU1, MET1, WAT1).
