Green Fold School is an outstanding inclusive primary special school (Ofsted November 2023 Outstanding) for children with complex needs in the heart of Bolton. Due to the successful promotion of a previous post holder we are currently seeking to appoint a strong, collaborative leader to join the existing Leadership Team in the role of Assistant Head Teacher.

You will already have experience of successful teaching in a special school (minimum of 2 years’ experience working at a senior level) and have a significant understanding of children’s varying needs and of the complexities of their care.

Our school is part of The Orchards Federation, a group of three schools working closely together for the benefit of all our pupils, the other members of the Federation are The Orchards Nursery School and Cherry Tree Primary School.

Green Fold is located across 4 sites in Bolton each with specific learning environments closely matched to our learners needs, the role will allow you to work and lead across all four sites.

Green Fold numbers have and are expanding every year and there are many opportunities for the right person.

The role will involve:

• Day to day leadership of school staff deployment
• Support for staff re: general classroom practice i.e. coaching, mentoring
• Supporting the EHCP/ Annual Review process
• Supporting the continued development of teaching and learning
• Involvement with the Orchards Leadership team
• Have a proven record of leadership and management skills within the special school sector
• Be keen to learn and committed to collaboration/ team work
• Have high expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour
• Motivate, organise, communicate and work with a strong, supportive and committed team
• Be committed to meeting children’s needs and furthering aspiration
