Location - Pocklington

We are working in partnership with a brand new self-sustainable care village in North Yorkshire that has been developed over a 10-year period with investment in the region of £12 million and is nearing completion and starting to operate. Alongside 24 privately owned bungalows, there is a 72-bed care facility which has a purpose-built hub including a village store, pub, café/bistro along with other leisure facilities.

Offering a great starting salary up to £16.00 per hour depending on the experience the candidate is bringing, you will also benefit from a Blue Light discount card, staff rewards & incentives, uniform, and meals whilst on duty. There is clear career progression along with training opportunities provided by the company.

We are wanting to speak to chefs with experience in high volume catering from care/hotels or restaurants as part of the role will include production catering for large volume outside catering contracts. You would need a real passion and strong work ethic along with the ability to easily commute using your own transport due to the location of the facility.

Role:

  • Delivering high quality food on site for the café/bistro
  • Working alongside the executive Head Chef in the development of the production catering element in the kitchen
  • Working closely with the team around them
  • Assisting in developing menus in line with the site feedback and expectations
  • Ensuring all COSHH, Food Safety & Health & Safety requirements are adhered to
  • Paying attention to any dietary & allergen requirements

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS - will be funded by the employer
  • Food Safety Level 2/3 - funded by the employer
  • 2 working references (1 from previous employer)
  • Volume catering experience
  • Understanding of menu & dish development
  • Knowledge of dietary & allergens
