Responsibilities of a Mechanical Lead:
- Project Leadership: Manage all Mechanical aspects of projects from concept to completion, providing technical expertise and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Health & Safety: Champion safety excellence throughout the project lifecycle, developing and implementing health and safety policies.
- Design and Analysis: Develop and review detailed Mechanical designs, ensuring integration with other systems.
- Budget and Programme Management: Monitor project budgets and programmes, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Review Mechanical designs for compliance with codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring quality deliverables.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies.
- Client Interaction: Understand project requirements, present technical solutions, and manage client expectations.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other engineering disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and foster a collaborative environment.
Qualifications/Requirements of a Mechanical Lead:
- IOSH / SMSTS
- CSCS
Preferable but not essential:
- ONC/HNC/ NVQ L3/L4 Building Services.
- Project Management or Engineering Degree
Experience of a Mechanical Lead:
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical services engineering.
- Strong understanding of codes, standards, and regulations. HTM knowledge would be beneficial.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex engineering projects.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
