Head of Maths

This is a high-achieving and forward-thinking educational institution dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning. We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Maths to lead their Mathematics Department and drive outstanding student outcomes. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as Head of Maths:

1. Provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the Mathematics Department.
2. Oversee the planning and delivery of a high-quality maths curriculum that engages and challenges all learners.
3. Support and develop a team of teachers, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
4. Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment across all key stages.
5. Lead the development of innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology.
6. Manage departmental resources, budgeting, and timetabling effectively.
7. Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives.
8. Promote a positive and inclusive culture of mathematical thinking and problem-solving.

Ideal Head of Maths:

1. A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
3. Proven experience in teaching mathematics at (Secondary/Post-16) level.
4. Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in a middle or senior leadership role as Head of Maths.
5. Strong ability to inspire and develop both students and staff.
