Street Services is seeking a Business Support Officer (Budgetary Control) to join its busy Business Support Team. Street Services has 446 members of staff, and the Business Support Team is responsible for providing a wide range of functions that assist delivery of statutory frontline waste collection and street cleansing services.
Under the supervision of the Senior Business Support Officer (Finance, Operations and Traded Services) the successful candidate will:
- Reconcile expected income from sold services against actual income received
- Ensure creditor payments are made in a timely manner
- Reconcile departmental spend, flagging incorrect expenditure and arranging transfer where necessary
- Maintain commitment records including spend against contracts
- Bank income
- Assist with debt recovering monitoring
You will have exceptional communication skills with experience of budget monitoring and financial regulations and excellent IT skills. You will also be a good team player who is flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the service.
