About the Product Team
The product team owns SwiftXccess’s product direction, defining what to build in order to solve customer problems in a way that allows us to succeed as a business. We do this by distilling insights from key stakeholders across the company, user research, product-generated data, and competitive analysis. These insights allow us to prioritize the features that we work on, which we define end to end with our design and engineering counterparts, to create a product roadmap. As the features on this roadmap get developed, we partner with the appropriate teams to make sure that they are properly launched and are set up to be successfully sold, serviced, and supported. We iterate on these features using data and customer feedback to make sure that they fulfill and surpass the goals we had when we decided to build them.
About the Role
As a product manager for cards at SwiftXccess, you’ll own the roadmap across customer-facing features, API enhancements, and infrastructure to make it easy to issue and accept cards. Our cards business heavily relies on collaboration with external providers and 3rd parties (e.g. Card Schemes, Technical Processor, Card Perso Bureau, and others) to keep our cards business running effectively and to embark on new business opportunities and product development activities. To ensure our 3rd party relations can be the foundation for an efficient and frictionless collaboration, we need to work closely together with counterparts within our business partners' organization at different levels and to ensure several layers of business processes are operating smoothly. This is a greenfield project, and the successful candidate will own the design, development, and launch of the initial offering and the ongoing growth of the product as we scale.
What you’ll do:
- Understand the market and the customer: Develop a detailed understanding of how our payment processing and business operates and what our customers need.
- Set the strategy for your product area, ensuring that it aligns with company strategy, and translate that strategy into projects for the next 3, 6, and 12 months.
- Build and own the product roadmap for an area with significant scope.
- Prioritize what projects we should work on, why they are important, how they should work, how they should be prioritized, and how they should be measured.
- Spec writing and documentation - think deeply about how product features should work and document these thoughts via specs with thorough coverage of edge cases.
- Execute cross-functional work - Work with design and engineering on scoping, task management, implementation, and follow up after launch.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders including support and compliance to ensure smooth delivery of new features.
Culture:
Foster a product and customer-centric mindset across the company. Hold a high bar for product quality and help enforce it across the company.
What you should bring along:
- You bring a passion for strong collaboration and solving problems through communication.
- You have an analytical and data-driven mindset and an excellent understanding of commercial relationship management activities.
- Concrete experience in the context of payment cards.
- Experience in a technical or financial services background.
- Experience in engineering, data science, card acquiring and issues, banking, or similar.
- Experience in defining and driving product strategies, including ruthless prioritization.
- Ability to create best-in-class interfaces that simplify complexity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical skills or demonstrated ability to gain an in-depth understanding of software systems to make meaningful contributions to high-stakes discussions on data modeling and software architecture.
Location: London, England or Remote and available during Business Hours; This role is open to remote work as our teams are distributed. We are looking for team members who perform well given a high level of independence and autonomy and will establish a cadence of on-time delivery with high-quality work.
