Our client is a fast-growing specialist medical device company that has been developing and manufacturing innovative medical devices for intraoperative neuromonitoring (IOM) for more than 25 years and is one of the leading companies worldwide offering a wide range of IOM systems and services.

As a Clinical Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to monitor the integrity of the patient's nervous system during various procedures, including neurosurgery, spinal, orthopaedic, vascular and other surgeries. Working closely with the surgical team, you will provide real-time neurophysiological monitoring, promptly identifying and communicating any changes to help guide surgical decisions and minimise the risk of neurological injury.

This involves placing needle electrodes on the patient, operating intraoperative neuromonitoring machines to collect and interpret data, and maintaining continuous communication with the surgeon throughout the procedure. You will remain in the operating theatre for the duration of the surgery, ensuring accurate monitoring while also managing pre- and post-operative duties.

You will receive full theoretical and practical training, including hands-on mentoring, seminars, and independent study, to develop the expertise required for this critical role. You will be responsible for providing services primarily in and around London and may be required to travel nationally when necessary.

Candidate profile:

  • Experience in intraoperative neuromonitoring OR a degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., neurophysiology, neuroscience, or a related field) seeking a role such as this
  • Ability to adapt and succeed in a highly skilled clinical environment
  • Excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient safety/care
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary medical team
  • Proactive individual who works well independently and as part of the team
  • Eagerness to learn and continuously improve their knowledge and skills
  • Interest/passion for neuroscience/neurophysiology

Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience, but an excellent bonus benefits package will also be offered.
