Our growing law firm is looking to hire a Senior Criminal Defense and Family Law Attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with making court appearances, handling Preliminary and Motion hearings, litigation/trial experience with criminal defense cases and family law cases, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and modification cases.

Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now! You must have a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in this field.

Responsibilities

• Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases.
• Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process.
• Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action.
• Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date.
• Represent clients in court proceedings as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have worked on family law and domestic relations cases for at least 2-5 years.
• Must have passed the Alabama State Bar Exam and be a licensed attorney in good standing with the Alabama State Bar.
• Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations.
• Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required.
• Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association).
• Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants.

Compensation

$85,000 – $120,000 yearly
