We are looking for an experienced payroll officer to join our high performing payroll team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career with a multi award-winning council, where you will be responsible for the administration and day-to-day delivery of the Payroll function. Whilst adhering to specified deadlines, legislative and audit requirements, you will ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time for each payroll period. In addition, you will be responsible for responding to queries from employees and liaising with relevant local government pension authorities. The postholder will have the opportunity to be involved in innovation and automation to support continuous improvement in the delivery of the service.

The person we are looking for has excellent attention to detail and accuracy, can work to deadlines, and has technical knowledge of all operational aspects of Payroll regarding PAYE, NI, statutory payments and RTI processes. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Payroll role using a computerised Payroll system, such as iTrent Midland HR.
