About the role:

  • Contribute to winning and delivering technical projects, from feasibility studies to experimentation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage projects effectively, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Take ownership of individual projects or work packages, efficiently utilising team resources as required.
  • Conduct detailed technical research, including literature reviews, desk studies, and data analysis from multiple sources.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports and presentations for clients, industry bodies, and public organisations.
  • Support business development through tender writing, commercial strategy, and client engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry developments by attending conferences, networking events, and engaging in peer reviews.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Degree in Engineering, Science, or industry-equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable energy technologies and the gas industry.
  • Experience in hydrogen science and economy.
  • Excellent numerical skills and demonstrable consultancy experience (IT, Technical English).
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Practical, hands-on approach, with the ability to link technical content to commercial reality.
  • Resilient, dynamic, and results-driven with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.

What can you expect from us in return?

  • £40,000 - £48,000 per annum
  • Generous Annual Leave – Starting at 25 days plus Bank Holidays, with the option to buy additional leave and increased entitlement with length of service.
  • 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, lab-based role.
