We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Aircraft Purchaser to join our procurement team. This role is responsible for acquiring new and pre-owned aircraft, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aircraft valuation, market trends, and supplier relationships to optimise fleet acquisition and expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in procurement on Bombardier Challenger / Global Aircraft; Leonardo 109/155 purchasing experience an advantage.
- Have contact lists and knowledge of where aircraft are being parted out / broken.
- Able to use excel to prepare complex and detailed quotes containing assembly and part breakdown.
- Identify and evaluate aircraft purchase opportunities based on company needs, budget, and market availability.
- Intimate knowledge of where to go and find unusual and not listed on Parts base / ILS.
- Conduct market research to assess aircraft values, operational costs, and industry trends.
- Negotiate purchase agreements, lease contracts, and financing options with aircraft manufacturers, brokers, and sellers.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure smooth transactions.
- Oversee due diligence, inspections, and regulatory compliance during the acquisition process.
- Maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including OEMs, leasing companies, and financial institutions.
- Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Keep records of transactions, contracts, and aircraft specifications for internal reporting.
- Provide recommendations for fleet optimization and replacement strategies.
Qualifications:
- Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in aircraft procurement, sales, leasing, or related aviation roles.
- Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, EASA) and aircraft financing structures.
- Familiarity with aircraft technical specifications, valuation methods, and maintenance considerations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with airlines, charter operators, or aircraft leasing companies both rotary and fixed wing.
- Certifications in aviation procurement.
- Proficiency in Aerotrack / Veryon or procurement software related to aircraft acquisition.
