Fahrenheit Security is currently recruiting for a plain clothes store detective to work in a busy fashion store in Oxford St, London. The nearest tube station is Oxford St. You must have at least 1 year of previous plain-clothed security experience in a busy environment. The rate is up to £14 per hour and a minimum of 8 hours per day are available.

Experience in a similar role is a must. Physically fit to undertake given tasks. Health and safety awareness and knowledge. Knowledge of relevant procedures. The ideal candidate will have great loss prevention awareness and be capable of working in a fast-paced retail environment. The nature of this role demands the officer to be an excellent communicator utilizing customer service and loss prevention skills.
Responsibilities:
- Use your observation skills to spot and prevent theft of products and also identify and deter pickpockets.
- Work wearing plain clothes and as part of a team of security officers.
- Observe and follow potential shoplifters and pickpockets.
- Call the police and describe what you have seen.
- Take evidence from witnesses.
- Write short reports.
- Sometimes give evidence in court.
- Challenge anyone trying to leave the store with stolen goods.
- Prevent the use of stolen credit cards.
- Use many different tools in your work, such as radios, loop alarms, mirrors, and electronic tags on goods.
- Patrol Retail Store Premises, Investigate Disturbances, and Monitor Entry and Exit Points of the Retail Store.
- Call Help in Emergency Situations, Circulate Among Customers, and Operate.
- Support regular security officers.
Days: Wednesday - Sundays (Bank holidays, Easter, Xmas, and New Year, may vary)
Rate: £14.00 per hour.
Essential Requirements:
- Current Frontline DS SIA license or CP License.
- Verifiable employment history to BS 7858.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work on your own and be part of a team.
- Flexibility.
- Discipline.
- Confidence in dealing with the public.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Good written communication skills.
