Our client operates all projects with 3 key principles that drive all they do:

  • Client Retention: clients must remain happy & recontract year on year.
  • Client Growth: retain and grow clients and their annual spend.
  • Client Profitability: ensure 40% Gross Margin on Total Revenue is achieved.

Skills and Experience:

  • Existing experience in Account Director roles in an agency environment.
  • Experience in delivering relevant events and exhibitions.
  • Proven leadership qualities.
  • Experience of working with and presenting to Senior Level client groups and procurement teams within large multinational brands.
  • Understanding and experience in sales, particularly upselling and cross-selling within existing client groups.
  • Impeccable commercial awareness and profitability management skills.
  • Experience across several delivery sectors and comfortable in the specifics of execution (Exhibitions, events, conference, green field, fixed facility, road shows, government projects).
  • Has worked internationally and has experience and understanding of multi-currency projects and regional nuances, pitfalls, H&S, unions etc.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Confident and experienced working with Producers, Project Managers, Production and Technical Managers.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good level of computer literacy, particularly regarding Microsoft applications.

Role: The Account Director’s key role is to build and develop meaningful relationships with clients to ensure client satisfaction and develop business growth. The Account Director manages the day-to-day running of individual projects and must ensure projects are delivering to the needs of the client whilst maintaining profitability. As an Account Director, you are in a Senior Position, expected to work autonomously at all times, and take full accountability and responsibility for your role, your projects, and your clients’ needs and expectations. You will be a principal driver to achieving the 3 key principles within your client of retention, growth, and profitability at all times. This role will include onsite delivery of events and due to the international nature of our business will therefore require travel abroad for unknown periods as required, which could be multiple weeks at times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The main point of client contact, ensuring a positive, effective, and trusted relationship is maintained and that client expectations are exceeded.
  • Responsible for being the primary driver to ensure the outcomes of the 3 key principles within your client of retention, growth, and profitability.
  • Client Retention: Ensuring all projects are recontacted for the next engagement, and searching for revenue growth at all times.
  • Client Growth: Developing business growth within the client group under your remit.
  • Client Profitability: Ensure 40% Gross Margin on Total Revenue is achieved across your account.
  • Reporting: Always be responsible for client account financial forecasting and revenue targets, managing the overarching account profitability, whilst managing the day-to-day projects, reporting to the Head of Client Services.
  • Winning: Leading on pitch work ensuring business strategy and financial planning is effective to deliver project wins and profitability.
  • Leading: Create client-facing proposals in combination with Creative and Client Service teams and leading on client presentations.
  • Accountable: Ensuring a detailed overview for all projects with relevant client groups and being the voice of the client in critical internal reviews.
  • Accountable for project-specific budgets and profitability tracking including internal time burn.
  • Accountable for creating and maintaining documentation, in combination with the wider delivery team, such as budgets, briefs, critical paths, post-project reviews, meeting reports etc.
  • Proactive: Driving and attending client meetings and feeding back information and briefs to the wider team in a clear and concise way.
  • Leading the allocated internal project team on a project-by-project basis ensuring clear communication and positive relationships are maintained, whilst tackling difficult internal and client conversations to ensure successful delivery and maintain project profitability.
  • Organised & Productive: Event planning, programming, and general project management following Envy systems and processes in partnership with the Production team.
  • Ensuring project information is correctly filed and archived on the systems.
  • Venue finding and contracting.
  • Logistics planning and management including travel, hotels, F&B, registration systems, staffing etc.
  • On-site schedules in combination with Production and Technical team.
  • Creating Live Show running orders and content plans.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety standards on projects are maintained to the highest level.
