Engineering Design Lead required to manage multi-disciplinary teams and drive technical execution from R&D through to commercial deployment in the clean energy sector.
Responsibilities:
- Balance technical engineering and team management.
- Lead a team of 15 with 6-7 direct reports.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers across all disciplines including commissioning, process, electrical and mechanical engineers.
- Oversee technical design, process engineering, and system integration, ensuring all projects meet performance, cost, and scalability targets.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, product, and operations teams to translate innovation into deployable solutions.
- Support pilot plant and full-scale deployment efforts, ensuring smooth handover from design to implementation.
- Manage engineering budgets and resources, balancing short-term project delivery with long-term growth needs.
- Manage technical risks and chemical engineering safety.
- Proven problem-solving abilities in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in engineering management - Experience leading teams of 8-10 multidisciplinary engineers.
- Process or Chemical Engineering Background.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, working with internal teams, suppliers, and external technical partners.
Ideally you will also have:
- Experience in a high-growth start-up environment.
- Background in large-scale hardware or process engineering projects.
