Sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’, it’s business critical. The logistics industry has a carbon problem. Some companies are doing something about it, and this is one of them. A Sustainability Advisor is needed to cut through the nonsense, bring clarity to the sustainability strategy, and drive measurable change across the business. This role is not about ticking boxes, it’s about implementing real, impactful initiatives that make a difference.
The Sustainability Lead will work directly with senior leadership, suppliers, and clients to ensure sustainability is embedded in operations, not just a business development tool. If you get frustrated by sustainable lip service, you’ll find yourself able to create meaningful change.
This role is all about making sustainability practical, measurable and real. That means keeping track of Scope 1 and 2 emissions properly and working with external suppliers to get a handle on Scope 3 emissions. It’s about ensuring the business meets the right certifications, not just for the sake of a badge, but because standards matter. Data is key, so expect to bring the data to life.
Clients will need support on reducing their emissions, and internal teams will need a good lesson in the whys, whats and hows of the agenda. There’s also scope to explore offsetting and insetting strategies, spotting opportunities that benefit both the business and the planet. Staying on top of new regulations, industry trends, and tech innovations will be essential to keep the company ahead of the curve.
You’ll need a relevant degree and some tangible experience in at least a junior sustainability role, but mainly a passion for all things sustainability. This is not a transactional role as you’ll be working with Senior Leadership from Day 1. This role is an opportunity to lead sustainability efforts in a business that takes it seriously.
