About the role:

  • Supervise classes/groups of pupils during break periods
  • Ensure pupils remain on task with cover work set by absent teacher, to ensure continuity of learning.
  • Managing a classroom, ensuring high standards of behaviour in line with the school's policy
  • Support school events
  • Opportunities for training and development internally and externally

A Secondary Teaching Assistant will:

  • Have extensive prior experience within an education establishment as a learning support assistant, teaching assistant, unqualified teacher etc
  • Possess good behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure.
  • Be confident with ICT skills, particularly Microsoft packages
