A Japanese manufacturer in London is seeking an HR Generalist to support the full cycle of HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, daily HR and labour tasks, and offboarding support. This role requires 4-5 years of HR experience, and experience in working for a Japanese company will be advantageous.

HR Generalist Main Responsibilities:

  • HR Operations: Provide support throughout the full HR cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, daily HR operations, and offboarding. Draft and manage HR-related documents, including contracts and compliance records. Ensure adherence to labour laws and company policies in collaboration with external labour advisory firms. Support the management of employment contracts, benefits, and attendance tracking.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Create job descriptions in line with company needs. Coordinate with recruitment agencies. Implement the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Employee Relations: Respond to employee inquiries and escalate issues as needed. Propose initiatives to improve the work environment.
  • Project-Based HR Initiatives: Collaborate with directors and external consultants to implement strategic HR initiatives. Assist in rolling out global HR strategies in coordination with headquarters. Develop, implement, and manage training and development programs. Improve performance appraisal and salary review systems. Develop strategies to enhance organisational efficiency. Establish mentoring and coaching programs.
  • Others: Provide HR advisory services, including guidance on employee-related issues and daily operations. Plan and execute training programs, including onboarding and employee skill development. Handle administrative HR tasks, including document drafting and contract management. Support recruitment activities such as job posting, candidate handling, interview scheduling, and assisting hiring managers. Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies.

HR Generalist Ideal Candidate:

  • 4-5 years of HR experience
  • Experience working in a Japanese company (advantageous)
  • Broad HR experience, including recruitment, employee relations, training, and labour management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees
  • Knowledge of HR-related laws and regulations (CIPD qualification preferred)
  • Business-level English proficiency (required for communication with international offices)
