FJA are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established Manufacturing Company. We are looking for a Group Installation/ Maintenance Electrician to cover multiple sites in the Rochdale area.

Role: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, ensuring safety, compliance, and smooth operation across various sites or projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle production needs related to engineering issues and breakdowns and conduct routine testing and inspections of electrical systems and portable equipment.
  • Cut costs by using the preventative maintenance system to reduce unplanned maintenance and help the maintenance manager with projects and developments.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, and other customer-specific standards.
  • Assist Engineering Manager with ongoing/new projects.
  • Enhance process efficiency by reducing downtime using the PPM system and C.I.P. process.
  • Comply with BS 7671 standards for electrical installations.
  • Carry out essential legislative testing of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Work as part of a team to optimise company performance and achieve targets and liaise, when necessary, with external contractors.
  • Maintain essential stock levels and collaborate with the maintenance manager to identify process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the organization on training and job development to meet production demands.

Requirements:

  • A recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and other relevant qualifications with at least 3 years experience within a similar role are essential.
  • A working knowledge of A.C and D.C. drives would be preferred as would the ability to work on P.L.C systems.
  • Experience of ATEX equipment an advantage.
  • Work safely within the company's Health and Safety Procedures.
  • Have a flexible approach towards overtime, shutdown working and call-out cover as required.
