Our client is a leading electrical engineering company in the North East, supporting a wide range of industry sectors with market leading technologies and services. They are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to join an established team, working on a wide variety of projects with clients both local and on a national stage, whilst providing leadership to a team of experienced Electrical Engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the electrical engineering team in the design, development, and delivery of electrical systems for a range of projects.
- Oversee the design and manufacture of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Work closely with estimators to prepare accurate project cost estimates and schedules.
The Person:
- HND in an electrical discipline essential. Bachelor's Degree preferred but not essential.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in electrical engineering, switchgear and electrical control system design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP SEE Electrical or similar).
- Understanding of BS7671 wiring regulations, BS EN 61439 and IEC standards.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and mentor engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to overcome technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.
- Proficient in the use of electrical engineering software and tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical engineering.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality engineering solutions.
- Experience with MCC wiring & PLC programming preferred, but not essential.
