Join us as a Fabric Engineer at Equans! Are you an experienced professional with expertise in fabric maintenance, porterage, and compliance with regulatory requirements? This exciting role gives you the chance to directly impact the maintenance and smooth operation of our facilities while delivering exceptional service to our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabric Maintenance: Carry out fabric works such as carpentry, painting & decorating, ceiling tile replacement, and fitting carpet tiles.
  • PPM & Reactive Works: Complete all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Critical Performance Indicators (CPIs).
  • Compliance: Work closely with contractors to ensure that all work complies with Equans' Health & Safety standards and relevant legislation.
  • Material Ordering & Records: Order materials and services within agreed delegation levels, ensuring timely and satisfactory completion. Maintain accurate stock control, engineer reports, and maintenance records.
  • Estimates & Site Measurements: Provide estimates and site measurements for work in hand, ensuring cost control and accurate record-keeping.
  • Contractor Management: Manage external contractors, ensuring that Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are submitted and the appropriate permits are issued for compliance-related works.
  • Statutory Compliance: Assist with the creation and maintenance of logbooks to ensure statutory compliance across the site.
  • Authorised Person Responsibilities: Undertake duties such as Water Hygiene checks (in line with ACOP L8) and Fire Door checks (according to BM TRADA standards).
  • Audits: Assist with internal and external compliance audits, ensuring that all documentation meets required compliance standards.
  • Porterage Support: Provide porterage services such as furniture resets, post deliveries, and loading bay duties as required.
  • Helpdesk Calls: Respond to Helpdesk requests within agreed timescales, accurately reporting work order completion.
  • Team Support: Offer assistance in covering absent colleagues and ensure team support in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Refilling Consumables: Ensure consumables are replenished in washrooms and catering facilities.
  • Health & Safety: Comply with the company's Health & Safety policy and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential: Proven experience in fabric maintenance, including carpentry, decorating, and general fabric works. Ability to manage external contractors and ensure RAMS and permits compliance. Strong organizational and time management skills. Expertise in statutory compliance and documentation. Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors, and internal teams. In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Desirable: Experience using CAFM systems (e.g., Maximo). Authorised Person qualifications (e.g., Water Hygiene checks, Fire Door inspections). Previous experience in a similar role within facilities management.
