Grind is a hospitality company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, the brand has expanded across London with restaurants and café-bars, serving coffee, food, and cocktails to a killer soundtrack.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Bar Manager who enjoys making classical drinks with contemporary twists. Evenings at GRIND offer a variety of classics, coffee cocktails and guest cocktails. We are all about creating a buzzing atmosphere by turning up the tunes, dimming the lights and serving the best espresso martini in London. We are looking for energetic night owls to join the Grind Crew in any of our Central London Locations!
Our Bar Managers focus on the need for consistency and attention to detail when it comes to the classics, and assist in the development of new menus. As a Bar Manager, we expect great service, consistency of all drinks and some quality shaking.
To be eligible for this role, you will need to demonstrate confidence in leading a bar team in a very busy and high-volume hospitality environment. You must drive sales through training and managing the team, and delivering speedy service with passion at all times! We expect at least 1 year of experience working in a bar environment, and a 'work with the team' approach/attitude.
Role Responsibilities:- Full understanding of cocktail specs, wine and beer menus
- Ability to deliver consistent and high quality product
- Possesses strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and managerial skills to lead team
- Possess full understanding of Steps of Service in line with company standards
- Deliver exemplary service in line with our Steps of Service procedures
- Ability to complete stock takes and maintain stock controls
- Ability to multitask and perform a busy service solo
- Open and close down bar to GRIND Standards
- To ensure all team members are trained and adhere to all company policies
- To promote effective teamwork amongst staff by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
- Understanding of Stock counts, beverage-based P&L's, including sales figures and bar margins
- Possess excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with colleagues and customers
- Ability to work well under pressure and use initiative
- Ability to problem solve and escalate complaints accordingly
- Strong leadership with effective communication skills
- Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
