The Global Tech & Durables team is responsible for defining the go-to-market approach for our suite of sales measurement and consumer insight solutions. Supporting our Account Management teams across 60 countries to maximize our reach and value to clients, whilst achieving defined commercial and sales targets. The VP Global Mobile Network Operators owns our data relationships, propositions and commercial targets for the vertical. The role is focused on driving Global standards and broadening our relationships with Telecom Operators, whilst being the figurehead for the company within the Industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Global Sales Strategy and Target Ownership: Assume global responsibility for the sales plan and targets of Telecom Operators. Define and lead strategic business initiatives to achieve these targets.
  • Business Growth: Accountable for high-value pitches for prospective Telecom Operator clients. Provide hands-on support to ensure that our solutions effectively meet client requirements and are clearly communicated.
  • Commercial Excellence: Promote commercial excellence by consistently implementing best practices across the community of Telecom Operator Account Managers.
  • Partner Program Management: Oversee the Partner Program for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs). Ensure the program meets data requirements and commercial expectations and maintain it to reflect current business needs.
  • New Partnership Development: Secure new partnerships with Telecom Operators. Identify and address data gaps, and develop and implement a defined data sourcing strategy that drives mutual growth and enhances decision-making processes.
  • Internal Training and Empowerment: Develop and deliver relevant and impactful internal training programs to empower Telecom Operator Account Managers with a deep understanding of industry trends and business requirements.
  • Client Value: Collaborate with the community of Telecom Operator Account Managers to ensure that current and future clients derive maximum value from their partnership with NIQ-GfK.
  • Thought Leadership and Consultancy: Establish thought leadership and provide strategic consultancy services to Telecom Operators. Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute annual marketing plans that engage Telecom Operator clients and address their insight needs.
  • Industry Ambassador: Serve as an ambassador for the Telecom Operator vertical at key industry events, including Mobile World Congress. Enhance the NIQ-GfK brand value and develop the existing client network within the industry.
  • Industry Needs: Develop and leverage a network within Telecom Operators to understand their insight needs. Identify opportunities to support clients with new globally scaled solutions.
  • Insight Solutions: Work with the product, tech, and operations teams to develop solution roadmaps that best address the needs of Telecom Operator clients. Ensure the client's voice is reflected in the decision-making process.

Essential Skills and Expectations:

  • Ownership of Global business unit with understanding of how to move sales organization at scale.
  • Client focused. Proficient in identifying, exploring and communicating client needs, converting into appropriate GfK research solutions that enable client growth.
  • Deep understanding of Telecom Operators, their business model & how they use data for decisions.
  • Experience in achieving new business development.
  • Strong communication skills. Knows how to engage with individuals across a broad spectrum of backgrounds and roles to meet common goals.
  • Ability to use data to diagnose problems, identify and implement scalable corrective actions.
  • Able to build meaningful client relationships, and work standalone.
  • Thinks outside the box and challenges where necessary.

Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in a sales role in the telecoms industry.
  • Direct line management experience with a track record of driving team performance to meet and exceed company targets.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Experience in leading and managing complex sales cycles, including negotiations with senior executives.
  • Expertise in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for telecom products or solutions.
  • Strong network within the telecom industry, including relationships with key decision-makers at major Telecom Operators.
