Come and join us as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for Building Product Design at our site in Pinxton, Nottinghamshire! Building Product Design are a subsidiary of Wienerberger. We design and manufacture a range of specialist products used widely in the building industry. We have a reputation for quality and innovation in the industry.

Our Role: As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will ensure that the plant equipment is operating efficiently and safely, with a minimum amount of downtime, whilst also contributing to the application of manufacturing principles (such as 5s and lean). Duties are varied, and include:

  • Install and maintain all mechanical and electrical plant equipment and machinery.
  • Fabrication and machining to assist with breakdown repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Fault find and repair any mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Use various types of testing equipment to aid in the diagnosis and remedy of faults.
  • Accurately report on work that you have carried out.
  • Ensure spare parts are effectively booked out and re-ordered.
  • Have a continuous improvement approach to all tasks.
  • Ensure conformity to safe working practices in accordance with company policies.
  • Carry out risk assessments and liaise with the health, safety and environment department where necessary.
  • Willingness to participate in overtime activities.

Hours of Work: over a 2 shift double days rota 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00

About you: You will be an electrical engineer who has experience working in a factory based in-house maintenance team. You will also have time served as an electrical engineering apprentice. Level 3 NVQ and BTEC ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline. Experience of using workshop machinery such as lathes, millers and surface grinders. Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment. Experience of working within a multi-skilled engineering team. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office, email etc. It would be advantageous if the applicant has 18th edition electrical wiring regulations.
